KITの家具は環境に配慮した素材を使っています。例えば、TBL-01やSLF-01、BNC-01のテーブルやシェルフ、ベンチでは、カラーMDF板とヒノキの端材を組み合わせ、ウレタンクリア塗装を施した天板を使用しています。

KIT's furniture utilizes environmentally conscious materials. For instance, tables like TBL-01 and SLF-01, along with benches and shelves like BNC-01, feature tabletops crafted by combining colored MDF boards with hinoki wood trim, treated with urethane clear coating.

 

CLOR MDF

カラーMDFは、木材チップを熱圧成型してできた板に、染料を混ぜる工程を加えているので板そのものに色がついています。これによって、表面は滑らかで中身も密度が高い独特の風合いの板を実現しており、更にクリア塗装をすることでカラーMDF独特の色を際立たせています。また、リノリウム似た風合いですが、リノリウムと非価格して表面硬度が高いためペンの跡などがつきにくいのも特徴です。
木材チップを使用するので、木材を無駄なく有効活用できるため、環境にやさしい素材となっています。F☆☆☆☆（低ホルムアルデヒド）で人への負荷も少ない安心して使える素材です。
硬い板なので角がかけやすいデメリットもありますが、ヒノキの木口材を合わせることでカバーしています。

The colored MDF involves a process where dye is mixed into boards made by heat-pressing wood chips. This method ensures the entire board is imbued with color. Consequently, it boasts a smooth surface, high density, and a unique appearance, further accentuated by applying a clear coat, enhancing its distinctive hue. While resembling linoleum, its notable hardness prevents marks like pen indentations. By efficiently utilizing wood chips, this material proves eco-friendly. Rated F☆☆☆☆ (low formaldehyde), it's a safe and minimally burdensome material for users. Although prone to edge abrasion due to its hardness, this is mitigated by incorporating hinoki wood trim.

 

 

HINOKI

ヒノキは日本固有の針葉樹で、KITの製品に使用しているのは、間伐施業で生産された小径木などです。間伐された木はほとんどが有効活用されず、森林内で朽ちてしまっています。

Hinoki, a native Japanese conifer, used in KIT products, comprises thinnings from managed forestry operations. Unfortunately, most thinned trees are left unused, decaying within forests.
